People-First: Insights from "Peopleware"

According to the book "Peopleware", the reason why some software projects are successful while others crash and burn, is almost always about the people, not the tech. Building and retaining strong teams involves hiring carefully, trusting them, and actively avoiding "teamicide" through practices like excessive bureaucracy or unrealistic deadlines. Ultimately, management's role is to remove obstacles and encourage quality, making it possible for their teams to do their best work.
